I havent blogged on this thing in awhile because I moved over to wordpress at my "official" JBantay Photography blog however its just different on that blog. It's more for pictures and promoting myself. I cant really talk about other things in my life haha. It just feels weird or different because its suppost to be "professinal" so I dont say anything on there about my personal life, haha. Whatever. But anyhoot. Man moving to SJ soon. cray cray. Dont know what I'm going to do. I need to get my shit straight and finish up. I'm actually taking summer school to try to catchup/get ahead haha. Plenty of things going on with life these days. Lets see what it has in store for me, maybe I can cature it in my pictures as I go.

We all nursing students asked this question to our friends or have been asked of this I'm sure sometime in our college nursing classroom life. Some day or another, you'll find yourself bored or unwilling to go to class since "She just goes over what I read last night" or "The PowerPoint slides will suffice."

I've done it. I've skipped classes.

And then I've regretted it.

What I've learned is that showing up to class is far more than showing up for a course you've enrolled in. When you attend class, you do justice to the tuition you paid and the money is costs per unit. When you attend class, you pay respect to the professor by being present and ready to learn. When you attend class, you attend a community of students eager as you to learn (or sleep or eat since you skipped breakfast). When you attend class, you meet with friends (and those you do not like) and share a commonality of sitting and listening. When you attend class, you simply show up.

In regards to life, showing up is big. It's not just being on time, watching a dance performance of a friend to show support, or going to an opera house that you don't like but for your significant other you will [or have to]. Yes, that is part of showing up but is not the most important.

Showing up does not only mean physically being there; more importantly it is your mentality showing up.

What matters is not how you look like when you show up (it's OK to look sleepy or if you forgot to shave this morning), but how you are when you show up.

Here are a few guidelines I've followed and I hope you adopt some or even make your own set for Showing Up.

Showing Up: The Guidelines:

1. Showing Up = Being Present.
Be on time [or even early]. Show support. Be there for others without them asking for you. Be present because you care. Be present even if you don't care because it matters.

2. Leave Your Ego Out the Door Before Entering.
Be respectful of those present around you. You are showing up for something or someone; not yourself! Everyone can be selfish but for at least a moment try not thinking of what you will gain from being there. Enjoy the moment.

3. Put A Smile On
Studies show that if you smile [despite feeling crappy], your mood will elevate. Even if you don't want to be there, don't show with your body language of slump shoulders and a sulking attitude. That will surely deflate the moods of others. Instead, mask those negative signs by smiling and showing gratitude to the simple fact of being somewhere and not nowhere.

Plus, you don't want to be known as the one who injects negative vibes or brings the party down. Join others and have fun already.

4. Think Positive. Be Positive.
It's not about why you showed up; it's about how you are when you show up. No one will know that you got a flat tire going here. No one will know that you just failed an exam yesterday. No one will know that you lost $20 to some stupid 3 cups and a ball street gamble on a MUNI bus (that happened to me Freshman year...damnit). Of course, no one will know any of this even if you told them.

All that matters immediately to the receiving people around you is how you are when you show up because that's the first thing they'll know immediately. Be positive and they too will greet you with positive vibes. Showing up and immediately talking about how that stupid flat tire ruined the day and well you'll receive "Oh I'm sorry!" and all but...that's probably it.

Even if you do share the bad news with people....

5. Laugh It Off!
Humor I think is one of the best gifts that we are given that doesn't require classes to take or money to buy. Learn how to use humor. Learn how to embrace it and receive it. Learn how to give it. Learn how to to laugh at yourself!

So I wanted to start a new project but Im just brainstorming and really just messing around. I actually wanted to play with my camera and actually blog since i havent in a while. But the concept of this project is to take pictures wen your not actually "picture ready." For example, just getting out of bed, still in your jammies, hair everywhere, and eye boogers all crusty in the corner of your eye, (well not that gross and raw) haha but yea. I know the ladies take forever doing make-up before going out so imma try to get them before or during like wen they look like they have one black eye! haha so all my lady friends, watch your back wen getting ready!

1. I think this is everyone's New Years resolution. Health. Health is very important and i see that 2010 everyone is trying to change to better themselves. Well me too! haha I already started and i feel great, However, I have been drinking a lot lately and I need to stop. But I have been eating right and working out more often.
2. My passion. What am I passionate about? Well lots of things. But really I love photography and I need to involve it more in my daily life. If its just to take random pictures at costco to waking up in the middle of the night to draw up a lighting diagram for a shoot. I will read more and learn more about this passion of mind and hopefully get my pictures seen and get my foot in entertainment world? haha i just want my pictures to be seen and people know my name.
3. Friends, family, girlfriend, and everyone! 2009 I lost a handful of friends so 2010 i hope to make a SH*T load of friends haha. I need to keep my relationships as strong as they are stronger. The friends i barely see, i would like to see more! My family comes first and sometime I put them second or third, and I'm making a change for that. My girlfriend... we kinda grown apart due to school, work and other things. But 2010 is the start to our new life. I need more time with her, to doing absolutly nothing, to jumping in a room full of trampolines.
4. get a job? haha i hope so. not really looking because I want to make my passion my job. and school is coming up with a load for me. I am really trying to get done with school and make my parents proud.

Sorry followers and random strangers who like to visit my blog. I haven't been really updating my blog because I just have those days were I like to blog and then dont for like a month. Plus I haven't really had an updated or worthy photoshoot to post up. Just me living life basicly. So any whoot here are some worth highlights of random things.
*PEEP this site. djizzace.com for the hottest and newest media and free music. DJ IZZACE is my cousin, Kuya (older male cousin, for all you non filipinos) and just resently dropped his newest mix tape "On Deck Vol. 7" its hella tight, copp it while you can.
* My girlfriend and I finally spent some time together after being so busy with school and social stuff. WE got to go to the Exploritorum. She has never been there and I haven't been there for years. Even though we got there around closing time it was still a fun filled event. Here are a couple pictures. I recommend going if you haven't been or it's just been a while. Also visit Academy of Science! Exploritorum is free on the first Wednesday of the month and Academy of Science is free on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Just finally read my September issue of Interview and finally was able to read the [re]published interviews of Michael Jackson with Andy Warhol and Bob Colacello (in 1982) and with Pharrell Williams (in 2004). Here are a few excerpts in which I loved.

Bob Colacello: What's your typical day like?

So i did a minor make-over of my room. just kinda got tired of a couple of stuff. and i cleaned out my closet. threw/gave some clothes away that i dont wear anymore. take a look at the new set up.

Yes, that is a mini fridge! I had it in my room for the longest time and finally decided to use it.

my fun day at NAPA Valley with the fam bam and the girlfriend. just playing around. love the venue. I wish I wasn't injuried because there was lots of nice shots and backgrounds for a great photo shoot. I were to have a profressional shoot I would love to shoot at V. so im kinda saving up but not really saving up. um i currently just left my job and will be out of money sooner or later. i dont know if me and the girlprend are going to LA... it would be nice. i wouldnt mind! i actually really wanna go after the fact that we arnt going nemore haha. i think i just want to have a trip with just us two and maybe meet up with people down there. denng.
- so other places that i want to put my money are:
camera lens or lenses. i really want a camera lens however im gettin a bit frustrated because i dont have time to go out and take pictures or i have no subjects to take pictures of. i really wanna take portraits and wedding (actually just people in there element of having a good time)
-i guess money i wanted to put into my car was the HID headlight kits i wanted to get for $130 2 sets. but never happened haha.
-and maybe a little something for my girlpwend. ;)

Denng. i got lots on my mind and im not trying to get stressed or nething. or i think i cant get stressed but my body is telling me its natural for humans to feel stressed but i just dont feel it. i guess im just not tryin to accept the fact. 1st of all ummm im really tired of my job and i wanna get out get out now. ive been wanted to quit for hella months now. but since my good friend and my cuzin's bestfriend got me the job and the company hella pressures him already i feel bad so i stayed. however Jo on the other hand. quit today and its just like wow. fuck i feel more stuck in this damm company becuase i dont want nando to trip . but sooner or later i have to break the news to him that i want out too. i mean im moving to another school/city. im kinda scared because i need to look for a place soon. and i have to pass all my classes. finals is around the corner, matter fact i got 2 finals this thursday! i dont have money for anything! i really want a new lens and flash for my camera but i cant afford it right now and have to learn to be fugal! fuck me! The girl friend still has to go through the readmitting process with her school and i hope she gets in however if and when she does where is she going to live? i wont be home and she cant live at 39 because her roomate is moving out... UGH? what to do with my life oh what to do? i need another vacation. havent took any cool pictures lately but heres some for pure random entertainment.

tell me why it was like 1am i hear yelling and arguing and shit outside. to i take a peek and i see 3 dudes just chilling and yelling at each other. so the yelling go for about an hr then then they start throwing punches! haha its was a short black guy vs a fat asian dude and tall light skin dude. the tall dude was the middle man and tried to stop the fights every time. i could tell hes getting mad and fustrated he just let them fight when it got too crazy he would jump in and stop them. after wrestling for a little bit and throwing elbows. the cops come rushing down the hill and u just see all three of them scatter. copps pulled out a stun gun for the big asian dude because he tried to run back into a house. a couple mins later 5 cop cars roll down and caught the middle man. i felt bad for the him. he was just trying to stop them and shut them up. it was crazy ok well im done just wanted to say that.

yesterday was the first time i got to ride it and shit feels good. soo far so good. too bad while bombing a hill at USF my cog came completly loose and i almost died! (knock on wood) but yea i pretty much had a freewheel w/o brakes so i ran into my boy Maku and slammed into a driveway.

My life flashed before my eyes because the next street was Divisadero which is hella busy and it was a red light for us when we were going down... but anyways i bailed andwas ok just a little love tap wen i ran into maku. so we went to MOJO's cafe and bike shop on divis to see if i could borrow some tools to fix my cog and lock ring. but they sed they couldnt lend out tools and they could sell it too me. wich is bullshit becuase he tired to sell me a fucking $40 locking wrench and a $50 cog wrench... wow! so i sed its koo i hav tools at home. so wen we were about to leave the guy sed wait let me see if i could help you. so i let him take a look so he took the pedals and spun it in the opposite direction trying to tighten the cog that way but he fucking was cross thredding my cog to my hub! he was hella forcing it and it wasnt spinning on the cog correctly. fuckng bitch stripped my cog. so i asked do u have hubs here and he tried to sell me fucking ugly ass hubs and whole wheel sets! fuck dont go to MOJOS fucking dont wanna help just make the sale! WACK ASS SHOP! hella irritated. so i went home to try to see if i can still screw on the cog to the hub and it seems to be fine. only the end of the hub is stripped. i tightend it hella tight so i hope it doesnt get hella lose and fuck me up hard! but if it does its time for some PHILS. but yea dont go to MOJO BIKE SHOP! this is the shop

so today was a nice day outside so i tried to round up the guys for a day ride for once. wish i took pictures. out of the biker crew i got aaronous and joyne. thats about it haha. the ride started at costco houses to Nubi Yogurt in San Bruno.

the total ride to and from nubi was about 10miles! yea thats right 10 miles foo. uphill/downhill in and out of traffic. good ride tho hella fun. jon almost got took out a couple times haha. but im lazy right now so ill add more to this shit later.
